BSCP Administration

The following sections provide instructions on administrative-specific functions directly in the BSCP application.

Assign Roles

Please note, the Admin role is responsible for assigning roles to users.

To assign roles:
1. Navigate to Administration, Assign Roles to User.
2. Complete user search. Once user is located, click Next.
3. Locate the role and select role assignment.
NOTE: Multiple roles can be selected.
4. Click Next. Click Next again to complete role assignment.

Assign Shipper Role

In BSCP, an administrator can assign the Shipper role to a user. This role allows the user to create Shipments and to view other workflows, such as Orders. Draft versions of shipments are not visible by users with other roles. If a draft is created by a user with a Shipper role, someone using an Admin or User role cannot view it until the shipment is moved out of draft status.

To assign the shipper role:
1. Navigate to Administration, then Assign Roles to User.
2. Click Find to see the names of all users within your organization. Select the user’s name. Click Next.
NOTE: The User Name is actually searching on User ID. If you enter a user name instead of just clicking Find, it should be the user’s last name in all lower-case letters. Plus, you need a wildcard on both sides of the name. For example, to find John Smith, enter *smith*. This will return “smithj_1234@securepass”, etc. You can also search on the user’s email address.
3. Select the SShip role, and deselect the other roles. Click Next.
NOTE: You must deselect the other roles for the user in order to turn off the ability to take action on orders and other workflows. Only when the Shipper (or viewer role) is the only assigned role, does it go into effect to give view-only privileges.
4. Select SShip as the user’s default role. Click Next.
