Sponsor administrators and team managers can restrict file downloads for a team on a per-site basis.
View Team Permissions
A new Permissions tab has been added to Manage Teams. All SharePoint sites for the selected team display.
- Each team has a dedicated SharePoint site for file storage.
- Private channels have their own separate SharePoint sites for file storage.
By default, all sites allow file download. The Block Download column shows the current setting for the site:
- OFF: Download is permitted
- ON: Download is not permitted
Block Downloads
To block downloads:
1. Navigate to the Manage Teams tab. Select the Permissions sub-tab.
2. Set the toggle to ON for one or more sites.
3. Click Save to apply the setting.
NOTES:

- It may take several minutes for the setting to be fully applied. The setting cannot be changed and is disabled while changes are in progress.
- Use the Discard Changes button to undo any form changes and revert display back to current settings.
To re-enable downloads for a site, change the toggle to OFF and click Save.
Sites with Downloads Blocked
When downloads are blocked, a banner is displayed at the top of SharePoint site and the download option does not display in the file menu or library ribbon.
